Cultural Awareness in Advertising


We have seen many failed examples of cultural awareness over the last few years in advertising. The same can be said for the Educational Realm. It’s important to ensure that you have a diverse group when making any decisions. This is not to simply be politically correct, but to ensure understanding. I often remind my students when working on any design project that they must know their target audience. There is a fair bit of research that must go into their design work before it can be started, and understanding who will see the final results and how they will be interpreted is paramount.
